Murphy's Law in full effect

First day of the Techromancer and Dreamboat show and already:
-we missed the ferry we wanted to catch
-locked the keys in the car and had to get BCAA to come unlock it.
-computer decided to fuck with the speed of all our songs while we were playing, even though it was fine during soundcheck?! First they were really super slow and when we tried to fix it they were super fast....

COMPUTER, I CONQUER THEE!
So I after much googling I figured it out. I had to put in the install disk, restart the computer holding the “c” button down, use disk utility to erase and reformat the harddrive, reinstall osx and then when it restarts itself I can transfer everything over from the time machine backup of my old laptop.
I WIN!

So I plugged in my external harddrive with my last laptop’s Time Machine backup on it into my new MBP, and it was transferring everything over nicely and then I moved the whole thing from my lap to the table and i guess the cord jiggled just enough to disconnect the external, so it STOPPED transferring and booted the computer and now in order to put the old backup onto my new laptop I...
